the bottom is made up of small rocky pebbles they make a lot of noise when youre in the pit....the photo shows the head of the river mouth, the main break continues after this down the river bar for a long long way

best barrel of my life - the motu would have to be one of new zealands sickest waves when its on. the second time i went there got the first double two second barrel of my life and its true u can here the river stones buzzing beneath u bloddy brilliant, a true east coast gem. cant wait to get back there as im now stuck in bondi australia still good waves but not what the motu gave up on that epic day amped to see it fire again.

very very inconsistant - breaks rarely and when it does have its day its generally crowded... butthat said and done sick wave
