Great Place - I came across this book on line nd used it to go to Witches and the rest of the country. It hooked me up with this dude who tkes you there by land. His name is Don Eladio, his fkn cool, so is this book, the best I have seen. On par with lonely planets accuracy and reaserch, but for surfers.

here is where I found it.

Witch's Rock boat charter - the surf is great for everybody. gets really crowed it. best way is to beat the morning rush by booking an overnight boat charter!. Costaricasurfcharters.com is the only guys that can do it. I took care of all the crowd issue. by the time everybody gets to witch's rock, i am done surfing and and eating breakfast on a boat!!!

Sonny - I hope Sonny still lives in the rivermouth and no one has made a pair of boots out of him yet. As for hamacas, there are some good ones to be found in the area fa sha. I sleep and wear one to all the local breaks and get laid like crazy.

- ...and then, I got in my hamaca that I purchased before hand and slept all day, never went in the ocean

Witches rock isn't always consistent. - Witches is a great wave on it's day, it's not too consistent in the early dry season.
This is due to unpredictable offshore winds which can kill a 3 foot wave flat. I've had surfs further south on sw swells when Witches has been flat.
Sometimes we can't always predict mother nature. I guess that makes surfing surfing. So if you want to pay for waves and expect them everytime, stay on a wave machine.
I had a great trip with Blue Trailz 2 weeks ago. Wim is one of the most genuine guys i've met in Tamarindo, if you want to get a good service, go to Blue Trailz.
Sorry to hear you guys missed out. No need to get your panties twisted up though! Love and Peace.
P.S. their Instructor is a Blonde haired B.S.A qualified Brit isn't he?

My friends got ripped of by Blue Trailz in Tamarindo too - They ripped us off as well, the owner Wim told us he didn't give a shit after he screwed us over. That other guy that posted about them is right, they are to be avoided. We paid for surf lessons in Tamarindo and they took our money, and the Tico showed up for 10 minutes, then left us after we were in the water for only 5 minutes, and when we complained to the owner (Wim) he said he didn't care, and that's how it goes. I can't believe people have a conscious after being cheats like this.

Be sure to avoid booking a boat trip with BlueTrailz - They'll overcharge you for the trip, and will lure you out there when the ocean is flat and they don't care about anything but $$$$ from unsuspecting tourists. I would use another booking agency as they are more honest about when to come out to this break.
