The Best Right Pointbreak This Side of the World - If you get to ride it while its pumping, I'll bet ya you will most probably only dream of this wave (Its one of my dream waves for sure).
If its 3 to 6 feet be prepared to do a bunch of very long full rail bottom turns followed by all sort of crazy hacks and connection floaters you never dreamt you could do.
If it's 8 to 10 feet you'll feel your strapped to a rocket flying down the line. The wave is that good and more due to the variety of sections and takeoff points. I lived down there for 8 years and can tell you I've seen it peeling and tubing all the way down the bay without sectioning out (at least 300- 400 mts). Best times are from January to March.

big surf here - I was just wondering if this spot is a little smaller than everywhere else on really big swells. If not, is there any other spots to get a good warm up session before hitting the good stuff, cause im going down when its guna be big.

Beautiful Maria!! - Marias is amazing! I visited Rincon on Jan 19, 2007- Jan 22, and the place was pumpin. When I arrived they were holding the ISA World Masters contest and the pro's were out there! On Friday the waves were at least 10 ft faces.. very powerful wave the paddle out was hell but once you caught a wave you were rewarded... one of the longest rides I've ever had. The reef is trecherous as well as the rip! the surfer out there are no joke so show respect! and you'll have the time of your life. I feel blessed to have gone there and see Maria at its full glory what an amazing wave!! Can make you a rockstar or part of the rocky reef... at full blast it is a humbling experience!!

Big Stuff!!! - Just got back from 2 weeks in Rincon. We hit it and it was good consistent and BIG! I got some great Pics coming and I'll post as soon as I can!! Cant wait to go back!!!

Rincon? - Just spent a week in Rincon, the Ohio of the tropics. Can't decide which was more bland, the surf or the scene on land. At best it was just... ok. Sure, I've seen the photos of double overhead Marias and triple Tres Palmas, hell, that was part of the alure, but the true measure of a surf spot is what it does on an average good swell and all of Rincon pretty much stinks outside of about three days a year. So do yourself a big favor, unless you've just begun surfing or are really outta shape or perhaps just had a labotomy, stay away from this purgatory. Middles and the north coast on the other hand.....? Trust me, Julian.

#u%king Kooks - It's a shame that this spot that breaks from 2ft to solid 6+ ft. clean, is packed with the most rudest people I've ever surfed with. they come down form the northeast and hop every one. half of them probley can't swim. thank God for leashes.

Frencho? - Hello,

Just wanted to see if I could locate Frencho. He has posted many shots on surfline. There is one labeled Unknown Soldier. Was that Marias beginning of May? May be me or just a fantasy as my wife says. Looks a lot like my taking a crap stance out of trim. Just curious!
