Pros??!! - Judging by the photo, you blokes don't get much up there in terms of real waves, or is that rating just some sarcastic Scottish humour?

- I'm a Aberdeen local and this place is well worth the hours drive. Probably my favourite spot, very picturesque.

It's very good at mid to high tide but you need a pretty decent swell and no wind. Access can be gained by the sewage pipe beside the harbour or a scramble over the rather sharp rocks further down. A rip runs along the edge of the rocks and acts like a conveyor belt to pull you back to the line up. This rip forms a deep channel and as such the waves normally peel right in towards the rocks. If you pull out at the right time you will be pulled back out to the line up by the rip. To late and you best ring your ding repairer.

- Sandend is a lovely place alright, but at Pennan you can watch the swell build from the window of the only pub in town ! Great for taking messy days literally, except when you have to drive home.

sandend. - aye aye sandend is not bad....but rarely works well, and when it does you can usually catch some pretty sick surf at pennan and all at.

anyhoos, the waves can get fairly decent now and again, though nothin compared to the likes of the broch etc, and if sandend is more convienent then its a cool place to surf

no title - pritty good for learning as waves are generally slow and fat and there is a handy rip next to the rocks to get out easily. It can get not bad now and again usually on a lower tide but Dont get too excited if your looking for a bit of power as its still pritty weak.
