Good for beginners - Surfed it December 2006; it reminded me of Muizenberg in Cape Town. Loads of flat 1-2ft foamies to teach your girlfriend how to surf on!

It depense on the condition - It can also get quite nasty, with a big SE swell, offshore wind and mid to high tide. I nearly broke my neck ;-)
