Walk from Lakey Peak past Lakey Pipe for about 20 minutes along the beach. You will reach a small bay. There is a bigger left that breaks into the bay on the far side and also a smaller fun right. DistanceSurf trip WalkGood walk (15-30 mn) Easy to find?OK Public access? Special accessDon't know |

- Sharks
Watch the rip on the right hander as it can take you back into the impact zone... Sometimes the left just shuts down with no shoulder. Do not leave ANYTHING on the beach
Atmosphere
Empty watch out for sharks as the bay is full of fish... I surfed it a number of times and there was only one time i DID'NT see sharks. Only reefies though, although tigers have been seen in the area.
General
A good place to escape the hussle on the peak.

reply to "shut the *$#@ up".... - I agree, I visited here in 1994 before this island was much known, and it was super desolate, just a couple empty hostels, and 20 surfers max to the whole area. I came back last year(2005) and it was soooooo packed at Lakey's. It looked like lower trestles out there. Can't get away from it. Spots are impossible to protect these days, and trust me I know... Living in south Orange County, CA I have seen the expansion of new cities, and the effect in the lineups and traffic. My once local-regulated underground secret spots have been overrun by summertime students who play football on the beach and flap in the water. Arrgghhh.

Shark, what shark? - Scares me to think there were sharks underneath me here. I was out on the Cobbles left every day! I didn't see nor think of any sharks whatsoever and the water was clear too. Also, I guess whoever surfed Cobbles and didn't claim it as world class wasn't there on the right direction swell. Screaming 50-100yd backdoorable barrels, and totally judgeable/makeable. I had way more fun on this wave than perfect 8ft. Lakey's ...every wave, drop in, watch it steepen in front of you, stall, then all out speeding barrel, come out at the end, and get off before you hit shallow rocks/reef. Favorite wave there when it's on.
