 Additional Information

This place needs northerlys of about 20knots for about a week before it breaks. Waves are choppy and have very little push, still fun if you love surfing and its all there is to offer. Park your car towards the back of the carpark because when the local come up to wash their boards they often rest them on your car.

Atmosphere

The jetty allows instant access to the back and the board walk offers a great place for spectators to stand and watch.

There is also a place at point vernon which gets small waves. It is located just before gatakers bay. Breaks when there is very weak southerly wind and fair bit of swell.

- i live in airlie beach and i have seen surfable waves here. maybe once a year! during cyclone season the islands can get really good! Hamish produced some of the best waves around with all these super tubing waves grinding down reefs and points on hamilton island. if this can happen im sure you can find a wave anywhere!
