Atmosphere

Surfing Dedis, your wave count will be much higher than sitting in amongst the kooks at Alex Bluff. Look over at Carties and you will see the sets rolling in over there. Get ready for one of those sets to roll in to you in about 2 minutes time. Try going right as well as Left. On the RH dont forget to pull out near the end, just before the rocks. The LH you can ride right into the dumping beach break. Dont be a pussy, tuck into the LH for the dumping beach break/ closeout barrell.

General

This spot is really good when there is ground swell and no wind. Hardly anyone surfs it as they are afraid of hitting the rocks. But it is well worth it.

Fun wave - I just surfed this wave today, 50 people out at Alex, me and a mate at Deadmans for an hour. It is rocky out there and you have to pull out before getting caught out on the rocks. It is a reef break, doesn't have to be coral bottom to be a reef. It's not a hard wave, very similar to The kick at Collaroy in Sydney when the swells right.

Big Invert - that invert is Dave Winchester at a south coast wedge
