On its day Spooks can be a fantatstic wave. Once the sand is piled in correctly over the reef 4-6' and offshore. One of the Penninsulas classic waves on its day. Can get hollow, big lip tubes. The left were legendary in the 70's, but for the past 20 odd years its mainly been rights cranking off the flat reef on the other side or the banks that form in thee middle of the bay. Can be a nightmare with crowds when the take off zone is small and the locals are around. Beatifull islolated spot still as Sorrento and Porstsea get more developed.
Atmosphere
No-one on the beach - just the sandstone cliffs. The best away from it all spot on the Peninsula.
General
Nothing better when its on.

disagree with longboarder - although i havent surfed spooks, i sure know that morno peninsula aint fickle. sure you gotta have conditions right, but you needa have conditions right to be good anywhere! wind isnt that bad, any type of northerly makes it good, it always has swell and one spot usually has a good bank.
the west coast is good, but it never gets swell and EVERY spot is crowded. where the west coast is flat, here will be 3 foot n sick. morno peninsula rules!

Another Fickle Peninsula Wave - Like all waves on the Peninsula, their Fickle. You've got to have all conditions right; swell, wind, tide, sand, etc. And don't forget the most important...LUCK. I know what it's like, I used to drive round and round and round, then end back at the 1st spot. If the Peninsula is cranking (pretty rare!), the West Coast or Island are blowing minds! Just telling it like it is.

Longboarder retarted - Spooks is a great wave surfed it many a time and it never fails to swallow me up in a barrel then spit me out. U need the right conditions everywhere, u think teahupoo + pipeline are pumping 365 days of the year?
SPOOKS 4 LIFE.
