Atmosphere
Atmosphere is OK. One of only spots on coast which can be surfed when the Fremantle Doctor blows in. In summer, you have to wait until flags for swimmers are removed. Good body surfing spot while you are waiting. Winter tends towards more of a beach break than breaking on the groyne.

General
Fun spot particularly for arvo surfing in summer. Park only in top car park or parking inspectors will get you. Lifesavers are nazis so don't upset them. Other great thing about this spot is you can surf at night by the light on the end of the pier.

SEAN--5 Meter swell doesn't mean 5 meter waves. - Hmm nice one spastic but 5 meter swell doesn't mean 5 meter waves.
Especially in Perth and ESPECIALLY City Beach, becuase the Rottnest is right in the way and usually cuases the swell to 1/4 or even 1/2 but still goes ok, so that was really 2.5 meters idiot, and he's not 15 foot tall. Get real.
You prob don't even surf do you... Your probably like 30 years old and your on this website commenting picture on how big waves are and you still live at hom eiwht your mum and probably plying WOW as well.
Even if your not, you still don't surf, any real surfer would be able to figure that out just by reading what you wrote...
You joke.
