There are many surf breaks around Port Resolution, from 2 foot fun waves (Canoes) inside the bay to 10 ft point break (Long-Walk Point). All the waves break over shallow coral reefs.
Atmosphere
Very primitive place, no electricity, no shops or restuarants, no cars. The only place to stay is the beautiful positioned simple bungalows at Port Resolution Yatch Club. If you travel here by yatch the Port (bay) is an excellent safe anchorage. Travelling by land you will need to organise 4WD transport once on Tanna, you'll often have to wait for hours or days for a vehicle to be contacted.
General
Very laid back. Great snorkelling, could organise vilage visits with locals. Pleanty of different surf breaks to explore.

Its worth a visit and if you have a board its even better. - I surfed a nice little right on the point at Port resolution, Im sure it could be a great wave on a better day. The beach waves are also good when you walk through the village, about 15min walking. You dont come here for the surf but it is a bonus to surf in such a beautiful place with zero crowds, thats forsure.

Out there - I agree with Craney. I have surfed this area and don't see much potential. Pleanty of people have passed through here and you don't see any pics of surf. Oh, if you do go, bring "D" size batteries for the locals.
