Awesome little hidden cove. White and Black sand beach. Reef break out to the left hand side, waves come out of deep water and hit the shallow reef causing them to bowl up with a long left and a shorter right. On the right side of the cove is a pretty awesome beach break, it does not break as consistently good as the reef side due to the ever changing underwater topography, but when it is breaking good, it is a right that peels from outside of the outcropping cliff all the way to shore. You have to watch out on the right hand side for a little patch of reef on the inside, if you happen to ride over it, prepare for the water to suck up onto almost dry reef. One other perk to this break is the natural channel in between both breaks!! You are able to paddle right to the outside without even getting your hair wet.... Amazing. So, enjoy this place and keep it clean, Dominica is the Nature Island.

General

My family and I lived in Woodford Hill for 10 years. We searched all over the island for different spots, and found this one to be the best and most consistent, hands down!! Calibishe gets some alright surf, you just have to watch out for the shallow water, the waves break over razor sharp rocks/coral in sometimes inches of water, can be intimidating in bigger surf. There is also a spot just just on the other side of the road from the airport in marigot (Melville Hall). This wave can be fun, but tends to section out and close out the majority of the time. Its fun to watch it break, but is frustrating when you paddle out.
