Take the water taxi from Bocas del toro to isla Bastimentos. Walk from the Town promenade in Isla Bastimentos, 20 minutes across the hill to the heavy beach break. If it recently rained, the walk will be in knee-deep mud. You can alternately take a water taxi directly to the beach IF the swell is not too big...they run the boat right to the beach and will not do so if the surf is really heavy. MUCH better for Bodyboarding. Check the point on the left-end of the bay as well. It has potentially good waves. Be careful for strong rips along the entire beach. You can stay cheap at the house of Claudio for 5 $ a night and use the kitchen just when you get of the boat the green house right of the chinese shop ask for POI thats his nickname

Additional Information
Atmosphere
It is hands-down one of the top five beaches to visit. You typically have the entire beach to yourself. A few locals here and there but they all are friendly. It's okay surfing but there is usually no one to ask if its worth a go-out or not...if there's swell in the area, it's typically a 50/50 chance it will be slop. But bring some food, charcoal and some Panama/Balboa (but never Atlas...the bottom end beer in Panama) or seco and you won't care if the surf gets mushy. The view is worth the trip.
