From Cherbourg: go to the east coast and pass Tourlaville. On the road coast, turn to the right when you see "Collignon". It's the right extremity of the harbour of Cherbourg (7km wide !). There two main peaks. One along the jetty as you can see on the photo. And the second one is one hundred meters on the rigth. It tubes and the wave is really fun. This wave works even less than "l'Anse du Brick". Check it as soon as there is a big swell.
Atmosphere
When it works, hot locals on the peak... but perfect waves!

a VERY good spot - I don't agree with the wannasurf rating for Collignon: -first, this spot works very very rarely: less than 10 days a year, so you should change the frequency rating and put "occasinnal" at the place of "sometimes break"!!!!-Then, the wave quality merits at least 3-4 stars!!!!!!!Because when it works you can found a one meter perfect shorebreak on a perfectly definite peak!!! The wave is not very powerful, so the mention "funny" is good, but you can add "fast". The wave rarely exceed more than one meter, but the quality is incomparable: the lip is very slim, and the wave form often a tube with a perfect shape, which breks regulary without any big section who close: it's perfect!-the spot is always empty, but the rare days when it works it's crowded, because all the Locals known the wave quality and rush in the spot.Good. I think it's all. Just a tip: don't envisage a surf trip here, you won't have waves, it's too rare. But if you are in Normandy and you have the chance to be here during a good day for Collignon, don't let pass your chance to surf this wave!
