It works only by very big swell. Come here during a storm. The interessant point is that the spot works with West wind. It's not hollow but and never more than 1.5 m. But hte wave is regular and very long. That is why it's so popular.
Atmosphere
It is now (July 2001) forbidden to surf at l'embarcadère, due to a navigation channel... email Chirac and complain...

Long rides - When it's working this spot is realy fun and fast. the takeoff point is very small so you have to wait for your turn if its crowded. the rides are very long and fast. during the off season you can park and sleep only 20 m from the break! Perfect longboard spot!Hangloose!
