It's not as crowded as Barcelonetta beach.

Mediterranean spot's are fine, if some swell comes. If you get a strong east swell, changing to north-east and east with west winds, every spot will be firing!!!!!!

Does the job - Barcelona's indicator beach - if there is a wave, it will be breaking here. In the winter there is a rideable wave most days, but in the summer only once a week or less.
It actually breaks over a shallow sandbar (or series of sandbars) about 30m offshore. It is a fast and unpredictable drop, closing out more often than not, but sometimes opening up to give a short but fast ride. Starts getting better around 4ft as the wave breaks earlier, drop is less gnarly, and less chance of a close out. Morning offshores make it much more pleasant to surf before midday. Easy walk out along the groyn when big, saves battling though the mush.
Like all of the Med, this not somewhere you plan to come on a surf trip, but if you live here or a visiting for an extended period of time it does the job nicely.
