a solid spot - just got back from 8 days at cala mesquida. surfable swells 6 out of 8 days, including 3 straight days of overhead +. don't come here expecting to be able to rent a board, however. the nearest surfshop any of the locals could tell me about is in palma, all the way on the opposite side of the island (at least an hour's drive.) the beach & backdrop are beautiful too, just in case you get there and it's flat.

Cala Mesquida - Spent a couple of years living in Mallorca until 2003. Now moved back to North East UK. The surf here in Mallorca is never brilliant, but it can be surprisingly OK. Cala Mesquida and Cala Radjada can both produce good, if slightly sloppy waves and are the best spots in Mallorca by far. Pretty consistent too - I used to get in at least a couple of times a week all year except July-August and I've seen it at a reasonable size - both work up to about 6ft. Storm swells can mess up the sand banks at Mesquida, Radjada has reefs which hold a bigger swell.
