Surf board hire - are there any surf shops that hire out boards in the area? i will be there in October, not sure if there are waves at that time?

By Wal , 27-09-2006

Arenal can work - Im there every August-always score something rideable.2004 was the best-1.5 metres for several days.8 kms further south is a reefpebble inlet called La Barocca. If there is a S-SE swell it can work well.

El Arenal can get good - Mid August 2005 4-5 foot Arenal for like 3 days +-heaps of waves for everyone, also workin' on the northern rock point and all the way up to the Port. There are some weird currents at Arenal that can suck ya down under then out-people have died-but the lifesavers there should learn the difference between a casual swimmer and a surfer whose out to get whatever the Med. Sea can dish up.
