West of L'Herradura is a little spot on the popular tourist beach with a rock point that sticks out a couple hundred feet that locals reportedly surf when the wind blows up some swell.. the day i saw it was choppy and resembled surfing in the gulf of florida... i got drunk instead, but if you are on tour through the area either on the way to morrocco or italy, check this part of the coast if its choppy.. there are waves . Tried to surf around Tarifa, and it wasn't worth it.. leave it to the windsurfers, get on the ferry, and head to morrocco.

Surfing marbella waves since a youngen - I am 15 now, and I am a pretty advanced sufer and bodyboarder. I have been surfing Marbella waves since 2000 and I know that they get pretty good around the end of August, your able to do some pretty sweet barrels and can ride the wave for a long time:) I recommend El Saladillo (pepes beach) Im a native here so trust me! Marbella is the place to surf!

Occasionally - Occasionally you can get some big waves about 1.5m. Check out Victor's beach, its where the kiters hang out. Bring your kite just in case there is wind, if no wind surf the waves! Waves are pretty sloppy but can be fun none the less.
