You park your car in a street that ends on the sand. Near the spot is a small parking lot.
The spot has a boat in the middle that splits the lefts from the rights. It's easy to surf this wave, you'll like this wave, but you must be carefull with the rocks...
Atmosphere
The spot is cool and full of friendly people.
Salinas is a great town... There are supermarkets and many other places where you can get all you need... In the months of december to march is the best time to surf and at night you can have a great nightlife.
General
You'll feel cool surfing with a crashed ship...

Salinas is Da Bomb - I just came back from Salinas, Ecuador (aug-sept)and had a great time surfing the coast of Ecuador such as San Mateo, Montanita, Shit Bay, FAE, La Chocalatera but the best place was at Salinas at the shipwreck point. There is a boat, The Orion I, which washed ashore during the 1982 El Nino storm, 1986 it broke in half and ever since then, parts of the boat wash ashore and the local men use the scraps of metal to be recycled. The boats inner frame is stiil there, visible at low-tide, at the tip of the boat facing out towards the sea is the right spot for the take offs, lefts are best here at low-tide but at high-tide its packed with groms and boogie boarders and you can go either way. Salinas Beach is the place to be..... Im heading back in February. I love Salinas.

barco - el barco is my favourite wave in all salinas.. maybe in all ecuador.. its not exactly bali but is a good quality long wave with different sections.. also it is where many of guayaquil's surfers begin surfing so it brings back good memories everytime we surf it.. see you!!
