he geographic name is in fact ILE DES DEUX COCOS , the unofficial name DARNE ISLAND, sometimes we call the spot ``BEHIND THE ISLAND``
long way to get out, first off you have to walk to the hotels point, here you can either padel through the lagoon or use the rip from the lagoon to get out ( the ipo is easiest gettin out)
coming bk in you have to climb onto the rocks/reef, walk along a island the paddle through the lagoon, normally against the current then bk onto the hotels becahes.
watch out for sea snamkes and shraks, aparently the most sharkiest spot on the island. good luck

Darné - A left wave the quality of which is very variable..exposed to the main winds as from april to end of october ..it thus works only in summer(nov to march) with north winds or no wind but still this doesn`t mean it works all summer! Swell has to be oriented south west , south east or east to get the best conditions..south swells make the waves parallel to the reef and close down..Underpopulated , just a dozen locals surf there and some foreigners every now and then..a very friendly place for those who want to escape crowds at Tamarin, locals are hospitable and helpful too..
not dangerous, the sea is deep..just beware sea urchins close to the rocks where you get into the water..and don`t drift into the pass where the current can be violent ..no shark attack ever reported at Darné!
