Détails, rectifications et précisions sur le spot - I was leaving in DarB from 82 to 84. At this time not only Henri, Hervé, Amin, Tarik, Guitou, Christophe, Marc, Said and the others from Bouz and the North were surfing at DarB, but also from Europe, USA and Australia. Rory Russel and some other toppro stars came ealy 80s in Morrocco from the North to Taghazout. Maybe some surfers ride it before, but I never heard about it. Hervé Pignoges. called the spot “chapeaux chinois” because he was one of the first to ride it (the first?)and because of the small shells with this chinesehatconicshape on the rocks. It is not a 300 m long wawe, but a pipe on the tarmac and “chapeaux chinois”. In front of Jack-Beach houses. But it need special conditions. For surfers with a good take off, good kick out and guts.

Hervé about the wave - First thanks to my old friends ! We had good time there!I lived for 12 years in front of the wave (I used to put my bed and tables hight enought to always have an eye on the wave... I named the spot by translating the arabic name given by the fishermen of the village, like Said's father, to the rock where the wave breaks. (as well said by my friend superdupont (?)) It's a very rare wave only surfed on very high tides. You can find some good shots of it on agasurfclub.com/saharasurf with Zino and Pier. These days Lahcen and Rachid are the new locals of the spot. Not so much new "pretendants"
