but the photo was real..... - I totally agree with you guys. The only day I have seen it really crank was when the photo was taken last year. However there was such an awesome swell in the False Bay that anywhere and everywhere that day had almost perfect waves!

what?!!! a regional classic? - please this spot never works. i think i know of maybe this one time it was surfable but that is still urban legend. there is pretty much no such thing as a south easterly swell in cape town

You must be joking! - There is no wave at clovelly, to give it any star is a disgrace, 5 stars my ass! this wave is in the furthest corner of a massive bay that gets swell about 5 times a year. The wave is a straighthander onto a beach with no banks - ever!No one is Cape Town would call this a wave, except a sand flea with sunstroke. Get real.
