The ledge a hoax? - Hey sorry Cape Lizard, the ledge is in essence just a big rock, but very very often when theres no wave to break at outers, theres a wave at 'the ledge', the even shallower inside reef leading into the ledge is called 'bottle caps' some locals dont even know that.No offense ..but it definetly exists. Its almost always crowded except for early early in the morning. Its no secret spot.

no hoax, just dont come - this spot is real and gets epic but do not come if you not a local because we dont want trouble. there are the old locals who still rip and the new guns who are ready to defend their spot. trust me the others that have commented proberly arnt locals because they no nothing about it. it breaks on an extremely shallow reef and reels down a point. dont expect to get waves at the ledge

The Ledge is alive...and well - Back in 2002 there were no locals cutting back the kelp on the flat days. Yep the ledge is really there and can get quite good (I surf there now quite a bit actually). I take what I said back and hope that the other guys that read this and enjoy surfing the place help out the locals/guys that cut back the kelp because they have helped make this break happen!
