Gets very crowded most weekends, as this is the nursery for most young surfers in the area. It's OK, have had it very good, but can be fickle. Can't handle a big swell - when it's maxing out the locals can be found at a nearby, predominately gay, nudist beach. Although there seems to be a fair proportion of locals at Sandy Bay even when Llandudno is cranking - mmm I wonder why?
