Atmosphere
The whole atmosphere at Ansteys Beach is very laid-back, as compared to the Durban Beachfront. The locals are mellow, but will have their say if somebody steps out of line. The wave is beautiful, yet powerful and the scenery is very lush and secluded.Very fun wave and good atmosphere.

good spot - spent 2 hrs on this site looking for spots for a surfing trip in england - I think theres a different rating system for english spots, cos their 5 star rated spots would put ansteys on a 10/5. All credit to the person who entered ansteys in as a 4/5 spot (I mean, we gotta leave some room for JBay and G-Land) but ansteys is a great spot well worth a 4/5 and on its best day anyone would be forgiven for thinking they were in indo after getting blown out of one of these classic bluff righthanders!
