Additional Information
Park in the parking lot right at the river mouth. Jump off the rocks and paddle straight out the back. The wave gets really good in Winter at about 4-6feet. It can run for hundreds of metres. The banks constantly change and can go from speedy super hollow to bolwing and fat over night. There is a lot of polution that comes out of the river mouth. After rains you get logs, dead chickens, cows, goats, furniture, plastics and other stuff floating around in the line up. There is also a forest of debri on the bottom(reeds, trees etc) which is extremely dangerous. As it is a rivermouth in Africa it has Zambezi sharks(Bull Shark)which are supposedly the most agressive species. A lot of chemicals get put into the river up stream which can cause diahoria as well as ear and throat infections.

Atmosphere
I have not surfed it very often, it is only worth it on the very good days. You are nearly guaranteed to have it to yourself.

General
It gets very good in winter, world class with out a doubt. Is it worth the risk of shark, debri and pollution? It gets absolutely perfect about ten times a year.

Charles Bronson wouldn't.... - You have got a death wish if you surf here. I paddle my surf ski here and regularly see sharks feeding.
