There is a path going from Marine Parade, near the Navy Base, through the bushes to the beach. Walk in a north direction along the beach until you get to the harbour's South Pier. The wave breaks next to the pier, mostly as a left, but with rights also. This is the only way in as it is in a Navy Base. There use to be a Ferry service but it no longer runs.

Additional Information
Watch out for sharks. There use to be whaling station at the pier. A colony of some of the biggest great whites in the world inhabited the area to tax the catchings as they were dragged in by the whalers. When the whaling went away the sharks did not go with them. If it is big you can jump off the pier, if it is small just paddle out. From 4 feet up the wave wedges off the pier into a thick and fun left which offers deep tubes and big bowls. On smaller days it gives a fun beachy with good sections to hit and some tight barrels.

Atmosphere
This is a dangerous, but very good wave. The fact that there are great whites the size of subamrines swimming around you keeps it empty most of the time at least.the wave warps and curls hard to ride

General
Not worth the walk unless the conditions are good. Not worth getting in the water if it is sloppy. It is a risk to enter the water and has to be worth it for good waves sake.
