Atmosphere
There is one particular danger about this spot (this is also where the name comes from)and that is the bloody great big pipe/pier that stretches from the beach to about 20 meters into the sea.But in order to ride into the pipe and cause extream bodily harm you've got to be a complete arse and know jack about surfing.Other than that it's possably the most popular surf spot in P.E.and an all round great place to surf with ample parking and a friendly atmosphere.

confused - the pipe and pier are not the same spot.... neither is pollock beach.....these are 3 spots on their own ...so who ever typed the comment about pollock beach......dont know PE...the pier goes 20m into the sea...no surfing there, open to the public for swimming, under life guard supervision.the pipe stops on the beach and it is far away from the pier...not bad for surfing..pollock beach is close to the pipe...about 150 m of,it is right at the toilet facilities....nice surf spot...hope this makes more sense....cheersphillip
