during a small day its about shoulder high. good for long board. on a big day it breaks about 15 miles out and still good for a longboard but also good for a shortboard. I think that u can also surf a small day on a shortboard.

Paradise - I think that's the best definition for it. Well, I hope I am refering to the same Cape St. Francis, because I saw no dune nor desert. Is it the Cape St. Francis near J-Bay, with the light house near by. Please confirm to me. I just came back from this place and had great surf, great people, great view. We surfed good 6' with wales and dolphins jumping all arround, that was on Thursday 13th Sept 07, afternoon. Please confirme if this is the same St. Francis of the movie and the "dune". thks. regards to the "Full Stop - restaurant owner" thanks for the hints !

This place is the pits! - Way, way overated (Seals). Seriously. The Town of Cape St. Francis is utterly disgusting. I couldn't believe my eyes. Local people seem rather nice though, met some wonderful people.

J Bay - Spiro, you were surfing the right spot. Bruce's Beauties made famous in Endless Summer 1 is to the north. My brother lives at Cape St Francis and surfs nearly everyday.His house is about 500 metres north of the bathing area. Balinese style thatched roof place. I read some comment about there be large things in the water. About 5 years ago one of them nipped him on the butt. His surf board is on display in the pub with at Cape St Francis with an interesting oval scalloped type pattern bitten into it!
