Affordable accommodation in the Telo Islands - Open in 2018 is the new -Telo Island Surf House- run by long time local surf guide Andreas.
The elevated timber house is located overlooking Churches/Mishos left the most consistent left in the telos, a long fun left suited to all levels of surfers breaking on all tides. (perfect view from the balcony)
20 min walk away is a fun right working in opposite wind direction, surf both these waves as you like or Andreas can take you to about a dozen more waves by modern speed boat.
For more info and bookings please check out www.teloislandsurfhouse.com
We can also be found on Instagram and Facebook.
PS. Limited guest numbers ensure when we find waves alone you are not surfing with an instant crowd.

Going Feral in the Telos - If you wanna do it, there is a supply boat that goes there everyday from Teluk Dalam (weather permitting). Leaves at 11 am (or so - Indo time). Cost is 50,000 if you speak bahasa and 100,000 if you're a buleh.
From Telo, you can charter a fishing boat to other waves, again, hope you speak Bahasa. Long rides to the waves (the local boats are very slow/uncomfortable and the local captains only know a few of the many spots). Watch out for the chief of police on Telo, he's a dick.
Better yet, stock up on food and water at the market on Telo, and arrange a ride out to Pulau Sibranun and stay with my friend Andreas (081363644963) and his wonderful family in the village. You will be ROUGHING IT, make no mistake, but the place is gorgeous and there's 2 good waves on the island (and he can take you to others in his little fishing canoe).
TAKE MALARIA PILLS AND A GOOD MOSQUITO NET! Several surfers have died here (no BS), so don't scrimp, you're a looong way from anywhere.

Telo - Waves are tiny at best. Most of the time you just sit there and wait for waves killing time. gets crowded when the swell hits the place. not the waves you come to indo for.
plus the risk of malaria and some other ugly disease and parasites ( on most of the islands the beach is the public toilet)
