Its an awesome spot... picks up heaps of swell! this is the place to go if it is too small for the reefs up north...
Atmosphere
One of the best beachbreaks I have ever surfed. Really peaky and has a decent punch... NO CROWD!

surf board rental - Its going to be my first time in Sumatra. My girlfriend and I are going to be traveling through Sumatra, Java, Malaysia, and Southern Thailand. I want to bring my board but it seems like it might just be a hastle. Are there options for board rental in the Mandiri area??

Potent Wave - Surfed for a month both in the off and on season.
Christmas time, is the most consistent beach I have ever surfed, with a steady 3-4ft wave coming in with constant off shore wind. perfect fun wave whether trying aerials or pushing yourself into your first barrels.
August time, the beach was completely different jacking up double over head nearly every day and hollow as a nut. Only negative about surfing it in the on season, is it only works from dawn till about 11 and then again at about 4 till dusk. but thats pretty similar for most of the reefs around this area.
If your down that way, its a must surf.
