THis wave has a fair bit of power and is a very fast wave.. happily surf it on 7 foot boards.
Starts working when Cimaja is starting to max out - if Cimaja's 4-5 foot, indicators is probablly 6-8....

crazy! - Just got back from trip to Nias. Indicators is ridiculously dangerous when 4ft and deceptively safer when 6ft plus if you have the balls, or are just temporarily insane due to the crowd at the point.
i surfed on 3 different swells 3ft, 5ft, and 6ft and got minced on the reef every time.
PS, I recommend for pro surfers only as they can pull off in time. i am a body boarder and could not easily pull off without a trip over the falls onto f'ing lava rock.

indies - local crew is pretty cool,cimaja is pretty crap, indies is good but i was there for 2 weeks and it never really pumped but we got it at like 4-5ft (still too small). it seemed like cimaja was actually bigger, i dont know why (SW swell?) its really fucking dangerous when its small. its knee deep barnicles and urchins and the reef is veerry patchy! if you go there stay at Sari Raous its like 50000 per night (twin share) and the food is the best (guarenteed) get a fish from the fish market and they will cook it the best for you.
