elricardo - i surfed here in '96, by my self, and got the absolute shit belted out of me... this wave is heavy.. ombak tujuh, means seven waves...
By TheDopeMan , 29-06-2007
This place is heavy - Dan Malloy had a water shot dropping into a legitimate 20 footer a couple of years back here in surfing. Alec Parker had a small photo of him nabbing an 18 footer in Transworld surf a ways back. Rusty Long had a 1 page photo on a 10 footer in that same Transworld issue. They also had some picture of a Uruguay surfer wiping out. They also ran another 1 pager in that same issue of the lineup. If you want to blame somebody blame the surf industry for making this spot known. It's not a secret. Anyways, it's pretty heavy and out of the way. Kooks will get sorted out. The only thing you'll have to worry about is if a whole bunch of big wave photo pros show up at the same time and jockey for the best waves so they can get paid. Very few will be out there when it gets 20 foot Hawaaian. And it does get 20 foot Hawaiian. It's a great paddle wave, doesn't hold you down as long as these pussies say it does, but it def. gives you a good beating. There are better heavy waves in the region, so most surfers will opt for quality over size.

jakarta mic - waves 7.
doubel over head turtels means 10 foot hawaiian w/7.
I grew up in so cal and hawaii surfed waimea and sunset 7th hole the boat places on oahu like that in the 70's and 80's. Finished kona iron man and swam 18 min miles in me hey day and have lived in Indo for 5 years soo whatever.
A coupel of you guys writting in know what your talking about you know who you are.
I never surfed w/7 with more than one person in the water.
In fact ya Ive left more in the boat than I've surfed it with and I don't even really go big any more. I have gotten it doubel trippel head slick glass low tide befor. "what a gass"
I've also seen it spitting 10-12 foot hawaiian "20-25 foot faces" claping like thunder in 20+ feet of water.
I got one inside wave that day after taking two set waves on the head cold and dark down there thankfully me leash held and I limped back to the boat.
Bring a big board and brass balls. Crowd the least of your worries. I'm Going down in a few days I hope its small enough to surf:)
Indo rules go hard or go home.
