It's on the opposite side of the island to the camp ground. Take the road towards the light house and drive to the end down past a fishing factory. There's a big TACOS sign right in front of the carpark.

Additional Information
Hachijojima is a fantastic place for a surf trip but you need to hire a car which means a bit of Japanese and an international license. There is a great free camping ground on the island and free Onsens (hot pools) for post surf relaxing. The snorkelling and fishing are also excellent. Access is from Tokyo by overnight boat...about $100US return. There are 3 breaks and some excellent local surfers here, but the Japanese are really polite so everyone gets waves. Bring plenty of sunscreen and water...the nearest shop is a 15 minute drive.

Atmosphere
This has to be my favourite spot in Japan...the water is super clear, there's lots of sea life and the waves are awesome. Its just a great place, easily accessible from Tokyo, to really leave the city behind. I was surfing with turtles here and saw lots of super colourful fish.

This place sucks.....sometimes - I went to Hacjijojima a few days after New Years and it was shit for three solid days. 1 day it was decent, a little over head, but I don't think this place gets amazing swell as often as has been written. Also, it must be noted that it gets super crowded on the weekends and anytime there is any length of serious vacation time for Japanese. There is also nothing to do when there is no surf, pretty much you can only smoke pot, drink beer, and watch TV programs that you can't understand. So bring a DVD player and plenty of DVD's, a skateboard, pot, and a couple of boards especially a fun board for the small days. The water was warm and clear so at least that is cool. If you can throw in a fishing pole, might be worth the hassle. Scott's pub is cool and so are the onsens but you need a car.
