Additional Information
This is the main beach in Motomachi Oshima, although it is hardly ever crowded. It's a short 10-minute paddle. Be careful of rocks during lower tides.
Works best with approaching typhoon. Generally gets 3 or 4 days of good surf with every typhoon. Waves start arriving when typhoon slips south of Shimoda and peaks when the typhoon crashes into the Ogasawa Islands (due south of Oshima).

- The local community are some of the nicest people I have met. While a buddy and I were exploring the island people were constantly asking us if we needed a ride. A generous stranger even let us borrow their car to ride around in! Overall, good times and beautiful place.
