Nice beach atmosphere; and yes - its clearly not a 'surf spot' as such; just somewhere unusual you could surf, if you happened to be on the edge of the Caspian, the day after a big storm, AND you had your stick with you (I didn't).
Atmosphere
I guess this never gets much bigger than this, and then only rarely, so its not exactly a destination.... but has ANYONE surfed the caspian?????
General
You ought to get some interesting breaks hereabouts - as the shelf is extremely shallow (0-5m) for 10s of kms offshore... so no real fetch and energy/wave sapping seafloor. No surf-camps planned here just yet.

Caspian rocks! - I was in Sari, Iran last year. Then came a small deep depression blasting and stalling in the northern caspian sea. Result: 4 foot waves and perfect offshore conditions. Lucky I took my sponge with me. I surfed all day. But it was rather cold as I'm used to caribbean water. The sea is also less salty than seawater which results in less bouyancy. I took som pics which I will submit. Caspian rocks!

Iran - Forget the Caspian has anyone been to or surfed Chahbahar in Southern Iran? I think this place has real potential. Is anyone interested in joining me on a surf trip there. As far as I know it has never been surfed.
