Since Teluk Cempedak is very near Kuantan town, it is mostly crowded. Locals usually just swim or laze on the beach. There is only a group of local surfers who practically live on the beach. So, if you're up there and need some tips, they will be more than happy to help. But... don't forget to bring some beer as a "gift"!

West Malaysia - We may never surf on the west coast of Malaysia but I have been skimboarding in Batu Feringgi, Penang Malaysia for the past 1 1/2 years now. During the monsoon season the swells are much bigger and stronger at the shorelines. During none monsoon season we sand skim at the beach with ramps and pipes like skateboarding. Skimboarding is a mix between surfing and skateboarding and right here in Penang we have a small skim community that skims the whole year round regardless if it is during the monsoon or not. For those interested do come to Penang and have a killer skim session with us. You can contact me at jetshon@pooskimboards.com
