Head north along east highway from Taitung to Donghe. At Donghe Bridge you can see rivermouth. Cross bridge heading north and make first right down small lane to beach. There is a small village at bottom of road where you can park you car. The break is right there. If you dont know how to get there then go to Gringos Hostel in Taitung and John will tell you. Go see Peter at Donghe. He lives there and he surfs everyday. He knows all the spots around there.
Atmosphere
This spot is where all the Taitung foreign locals surf all winter. It is their bread and butter. These guys are all soul surfers which is cool but none of them rip and there are a few kooks.
General
Good place when there is nothing else and can be quite fun.

- I remember Dong-he back in the 40's when I fled China for Formosa. Brought my 12 foot Shanghai tanker and ripped the place up for at least three generations before the Wai guo ren started showing up. I now live above the break, in a nice little San He Yuen, and usually surf a secret left bowl north of there. I'm now 95, but I still shoot the curl like Gerry Lopez on Javanese Mescalin.
