"Localism" - what is the deal guys and girls??? why is everyone so caught up in who is the 'top dog' at every bloody surf spot on the planet. I live 20 mins drive from here, but it would be 5 mins if the road went straight there. what is the point in someone who lives on the beach claiming locality...so fucking what! you cant own the beach, or decide who surfs/swims there its everyones right to do that anywhere in our great land. what would you expect if you wanted to go surf elsewhere...a boatload of resistance and hostility from "locals" just because they can afford to live on the coast. I am sad and angry to see the reputation of surfing and surfers today, because of how this phenomenon of "localism" has destroyed the idealistic freedom of surfing. instead of going out to chill and have a good time, now you have to go out and compete and fight your way in, we have to look over our shoulders and watch out for "locals" more than we do sharks or any other predators in the ocean, seriously this needs to change...fast!

Pfftttttt - Why do u guys bother having a little bitch fight together over some website about wether ur local or not.... stop having a winge and actually get out in the water and surf, like a proper local should do.... but i will have to stay with the boys from mona in saying Fuck of blow ins, travelling an hour to surf.... go buy a farm or something and give up trying to surf
