General
Like any beach exposed to the open swell, this place can be horrible, or great. Get a good sand bank on an offshore wind, with a medium swell, and you will think you are in heaven.

The REAL story... - Been to Robe 4 times in the past 12 months...IT SUX, apparentely their r some good waves there however after just spending 3 weeks there and surfing nothing but close outs iv given up. In 4 trips never scored a better than average wave! Wouldnt bother making the trip, these so call good spots of "Stonies" and "Mateches" r just short inconsistent crappy beach brakes that rarely ever work! Would head to Vic or even Victor Harbor any day. Sorry to anyone i offend but it really ant worth the trip

Your right - You are correct bit hit and miss in the south east. Perhaps you should have taken the the time out to venture a bit further south to where the real action begins that and get friendly with some locals and learn to read a weather map right and you will score
