Not a great spot but very occasionally gets good. This is the place to go if the swell is too big for Waits and Parsons but to small for some of the other breaks around Middleton or Pt Elliot. A really long paddle out especially onshore conditions. Sometimes has strong longshore rips.
Atmosphere
Nothing special but a good beach for lying around on or learning.

Goolwa FTW!!! - Ok wtf are you guys complaining about?
its a great beach to learn to surf, as well as have fun with when your more experienced.
Ive been going to goolwa for 15-20 years, in the early 2000's when Horseshoe Bay was pounding goolwa as also having 4-5ft breaks regularily and that was great, tides have changed but around 2012-2013 the tides are going to be almost identical to those in the early 2000's. its going to get better, but for now, damn there is no other place ill rather be, except bells nad coolangata :)

Memories - Wow, I love the picks on here. Really, that length of ride 50m should be changed.
BTW at 8.00 am on easter sat morning (1981 fink it waz?) I arrived at beach to see what looked like the entire horizon lift up and feather, 16ft plus perfection and no one out!! The famous 'big saturday' of the bells connest.
It wasn't fat, it was a 2 km long closeout. Went to middleton and nearly drowned in the foam with about 30 kooks, ahh the memories
