Eastmans beach is a protected beach on the north east coast of Tasmania. A fairly inconsistent break. only works about 20 times a year. When eastmans is working best is a NE swell with light winds. on a NE swell left and rights are availiable. on a west swell there are mostly lefts. quite a crowded wave dominated by bodyboarders. A very steep wave that breaks close to the shore. On a big day the locals get barreled off the point where it breaks really shallow over rocks. When you see a low pressure system, cold front or a big west swell in bass strait you know eastmans will be pumping. The storm water that rushes out after big rain fall forms a perfect a-frame.

Additional Information
Your best bet is during winter when west swells dominate bass strait. However the best swell direction is E/NE which you will find during summer. There are 3 main peaks. the first peak breaks over a shallow rock/sand ledge which barrells on a big swell for 50 metres. The second peak is a left which is at the end of the first peak. Breaks on sand and is the favoured peak for begginners. The last peak is an aframe which is right infront of the storm water bank. This spot is best in a NE swell. The beach has a deep to shallow affect.

Atmosphere
A fairly relaxed spot. If you respect the locals they will respect you sorta thing. the huge number of bodyboarders destroy the relaxed vibe at the place. the place gets a fair amount of protection from the howling westerlies.
