Additional Information
It's with Paparaa the best beach break at Tahiti. The Sandbar is often excellent and produce tubes. It holds big swell. The water here is often cold. Don't surf here after big rains (sharks and infectious pollution). If no locals are surfing: stay out the water.
Atmosphere
Localism can be strong if conditions are good. Come alone.

it depends - could be perfect as it could be shitty , becarefull the day after rainning ... must not go the water will be really really scary-dirty...

Fun surf - Paddled out with my buddy for some waves - a little mushy, but otherwise fun. Definite potential if the swell is head-high or bigger. Locals were very cool.

danger!!! - careful there, a famous tahitian girl had a bad accident years ago, coz this place is a garbage, and she felt on a big metal shit, she cutted really seriously her leg...
and also, i went checked one morning, i was with my scooter, and 3 fuckin dogs ran after me, i started up my scoot, tryin to flee from them, but one of them could stick a tooth in my leg, nothin serious, but i guess if i was without scoot or car, i could be eating by those monsters, man!!!!!
otherwise, i had some good surfing times there too...
