 Additional Information

this is a very heavy wave when its on. top to bottom barrel. this wave pitches out twice as far as it is high. i have had some mean poundings here. knocked out a tooth in 98. paddle hard putting in a few extra strokes as it sucks like kirra. stay low in the barrel even if you think it going to stay open. you want to avoid wipeing out here. of you do get hit in the head by the barrel. cover your head with your arm and relax, let the ocean take you if you tense up you become brittle and will likely be snapped like a twig!

Atmosphere

this wave is memerising. it comes out of a relatively deep hole on to a very shallow sand bar. it breaks fast and heavy. and some session i have had i swear to god that the lip was 2feet thick! the wave sucks up a lot of sand when its this big!!!when its this big and heavy it can be a bit intimidating and appears darkish depending on the light but on sunny days it is mottled yellow cause of the sand.on and often the sea is milo coloured. dunno why?

What this added on the 1st of April?? - What is it a top to bottom 1 ft barrel, because that's the most swell I've seen in an offshore on that whole coast line. I'm sure there might be some good spots on this coast if they ever got a decent ground swell.
If you want to score waves, you've got to drive a bit further that Raumati 99% of the time.

kapiti local - you have got to be joking man...there is half a monkeys chance youll get a stand up barrel anywhere in raumati. And the only sharks there are the fools that wrote this. If you want stand up kegs then head to wairaka rock or even better nth end of the island. Raumati is great for beginners...until you stand up then head else where.

poo - world class? i dont think so!might be world class in raumati but not the world! the area is ultra inconsistant, the locals are safe, sharks dont bother you.
