Drive Your car to the end of Pakiri road for carpark. Sand banks move around a lot. Can have a big trench and close out, or can have epic peaks. Northwest wind is onshore. Misses a lot of the east or south east swell. Picks up all the north and north east swell. Long beach so plenty of space for everyone if its working.
Atmosphere
Very nice spot surrounded by hills makes you feel like your in a different country. A little estuary for kids to play in and lots of sand dunes
General
Very private and beautiful

>>??<< - Pakiri is on the east coast who posted this thinking it was on the West coast. wake up stoopid!Thought id mention ive been to pakiri with decent NW swells and its never good, the sand bars always close out or provide reforms that dump on the beach and snap your board.

Fun Beginners Beach - We drove to Pakiri for a day out. We have been riding white waves at Piha for a whole summer and wanted something a little calmer.
We had a blast, caught quite a few small green waves, able to paddle out the back without being smashed or getting in the way of more experienced surfers. Tide was going out and there was an easterly small swell.
Great for beginners who are desperate to get off the white water.
Beautiful big white sand beach with a great estuary for any kiddies.
