Hickery - Have surfed hickery about five times, size ranged from 2 ft to some 8 ft sets today! A damn fine beachbreak if your asking me, barrels to be had, a bit of power. Was closing out today though, and the sets were just chunky and gnarly. Like the sign there says, 'fat magnet for fags' and 'no ugly chicks' haha

Hickory Bay - I first surfed Hickory 19years ago at that time only a handfull of people knew about the place, i lived a few bays away at pigeon bay for a couple of years and surfed Hickory several times a week on my own. I've seen some of the widest barrels, the take off sometimes there is almost an unmakable platform, when it gets really big deep in the left corner is evil huge big axeing lefts on the massive south swells. The lefts in the corner are mechanical and you can go ballistic on your backhand. Looking back now i'm extremely surprised i never saw a shark when i surfed 2years there on my own 3-4times a week, but i definitley believe that great whites would visit the bay regulary- so definitley risky surfing there on youre own.
I've also had the next bay over (Goughs) really good on the right conditions, also very sharky feel about it, theres so much marine life around the peninsula.

Hickery - PS....What's with the complaints about the state of the access. THe beauty of Hickery is that it is rugged and isolated, a wee bit of a mission. That's why it rarely gets crowded. Don't complain so much...it's a trade-off for having the line-up to yourself
