 Additional Information

There is a small carpark (rest area) directly infront of the break. Access to the break is either, a sometimes challenging paddle from the beach, or through the gap in the rock point which can be risky.

Atmosphere

Cross Roads is a fickle break, but when its working is one of, if not the best breaks in the area. The swells wrap aroud the point from the south and peel into the sandy bay. The wave varies in length, depending on the size and direction of the swell. The Bull kelp which covers the rocky point can entangle and drown a surfer, so getting caught inside requires a frantic paddle back out.

General

Love the wave. If its clean you're almost guaranteed a barrel.

local surfer says - its no great place to surf it goes really flat as soon as you get on the wave you can get a long ride if good swell i would have to say it does not barrel it to flat and good for floaters not barrels some times it really big but easy to duck dive

crossroads rips - gotta be there when its on, and its good, lined up down the bull kelp rock shelf. It was the spot we were always waiting to break, when we were grommets in the eighties. I'll try and find the old photos, roofride floater and a nice cutty. Once with frost on the pebble beach a hard core girl donned layers of diving wetsuit and took it on alone, she dived from the pebbles onto a wave sucking back out, got spun by the shorey and came in stoked!
