Murdering bay vs snapper - Having lived in Dunedin for 4 years and surfed this spot a few times, I loved it you had to get the swell etc right but when it's on it's good.
Now I live on GC snapper is a good wave but full of kooks, Mals, stand ups etc Burleigh is way better if you wanna talk about GC waves.
If the water was warmer Dunedin would kill GC for consistent quality waves your better off kite surfing on GC

Over-rated - If you like a mushy peeler then get to murdering. I can't anyone would come from the Gold Coast to surf murdering... stay at Snapper.. .way better!

Too late - Sounds like this place is well known now. First time I went there was absolutely perfect 1.5 head and nobody out all day. If I fell it didn't matter because the next wave was exactly the same so I just caught it and kept riding. First time in my life I had jelly legs from an endless powerful wall. Other comments are true, in three years I had it good maybe four times and only once (the first time) was it perfect. Best wave I have ever surfed. I really miss that break.
