access at Sandy Lane - For those of us not from Barbados, the "lane" itself, which gives access to the beach, is a bit difficult to spot. Basically, park right next the road on the side away from the beach, just south of the Sandy Lane resort itself. New hotel construction on the south side of the lane also confuses things. Follow the obvious path down to the water and paddle or walk about 200 yards north. Access thru the posh Sandy Lane resort is usually not posible for us less well heeled mortals, but it does make for an interesting back drop to the festivities when the spot is working.

Surf Characteristics at Sandy Lane - Managed to catch this thing for 2 lucky days in late September. It is indeed a regional classic. The rip curling in front of the resort with a north swell, curves around the beach and hits the wave a little right of center. The right combination of sine vectors, and the bugger jacks "right there" to interesting effect. Respect to the locals results in a true reflection of the spirit of Rastifari. Enjoy
